Would You Go...

On a week-long retreat for Catholic women designed to celebrate your feminine calling to marriage and motherhood through fellowship, prayer and workshops on the womanly arts like:

Sewing and Needle-arts
Floral design
Decorative arts (using your own style to make your home contemplative, warm and joyful)
Childrearing (including Faith formation, homeschooling and etiquette)
Cooking and Baking (with a focus on using healthful, organic ingredients and marathon cooking)
Household Management

Would you travel (assuming you need to) to Massachusetts?

Is $300 a fair price for such a retreat?

Would you recommend such a retreat to your friends?

Please leave your comments below and pass the word. I’d like as much feedback as possible.

This sounds wonderful, though I am not Catholic. What about the same retreat, with the same topics, but more ecumenical, where the Catholic perspective and others can be presented?

Nissa:
Sounds wonderful but I think a long weekend is all I could swing. I'm in NY and I'd make the trip.

OH it sounds wonderful! But I don't know if I could swing a whole week though a weekend would be doable. Nursing babes welcome I assume?

Hey Jenn could you pick me up on the way?

That sounds lovely, but a week is a long time for mother to be gone. Maybe a long-ish weekend? Friday-Sunday?

I agree with the others that a week is most likely too long for a mom to leave her family but it sounds heavenly!! I'm in NE Ohio and expecting a baby in January so I don't think it's something I would be able to do in the next year or 2 but I would love to if I could.

LOVE THIS, NISSA! I agree about the timeframe...don't know if I'd travel from deep South. But I love the idea of a retreat to "learn how" to build a nurturing Catholic nest. : ) I'm wondering if it would't be fantastic as retreat that could be presented regionally? What about teams of retreat folks in various parts of the country that could put it on in their areas? I am intrigued. : ) Simply awesome idea!

I would love it!
A week would be hard on the family, even if I brought the nursing wee one.
I would love to see Mass. and the price sounds okay, but it (and the price) would be out of my range.

sounds lovely, I am in Mass and could easily come, but yes, a week is too long to leave my babes, I barely leave them for an evening, a weekend away would be astonishing!! I haven't gone on a retreat since a few Opus Dei retreats in my high school days and it's very appealing to me......a weekend, and perhaps a little bit less expensive and I'd do it

I think 300 dollars is very reasonable. The format sounds incredible!

$300.00 sounds incredible for what you'd offer...but I'm in CA and while I'd like to travel, I haven't even been able to do a retreat here.

But you have wonderful ideas!
